Cookie policy
This cookie policy (hereinafter: “Cookie Policy”) provides information on the cookies used and the data placed in browser storage on the website operated under the name “thyone software” at https://thyonesoftware.com (hereinafter: “Website”) by Imola Mészár, sole trader (registered office: 1119 Budapest, Andor utca 21/C, Hungary; registration number: 57362151; hereinafter: “Data Controller”). The Cookie Policy forms part of the Privacy Policy and is to be read together with it.
The Cookie Policy is effective from 11 October 2026.
1. Definition of a cookie
A cookie is a small text file that the visitor’s browser stores on the visitor’s device at the request of the Website and returns to the Website on later requests. A cookie enables the Website to remember data between page loads or between visits, for example the decision made in the cookie banner. Browser storage (localStorage) serves a similar purpose, with the difference that the browser does not send the data stored in it to the server.
Under Section 155(4) of Hungarian Act C of 2003 on Electronic Communications, data may be stored on the visitor’s device only with the visitor’s consent given after clear and comprehensive information, unless the storage is strictly necessary for the sole purpose of transmitting a communication over an electronic communications network or for providing a service expressly requested by the visitor.
2. Cookies and stored data used on the Website
The Website uses two groups of cookies: a cookie strictly necessary for the operation of the Website, which requires no consent, and statistical cookies for measuring traffic, which are set only with the visitor’s consent. The Website uses no advertising cookies.
2.1. Strictly necessary cookie
| Name | Purpose | Set by | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
thyone_consent |
Remembers the decision made in the cookie banner (acceptance or rejection of statistical cookies) and the time of the decision, so that the Website does not ask for the decision again on every page. | Data Controller (first-party cookie) | 180 days |
The cookie is strictly necessary for providing a service expressly requested by the visitor — remembering the decision — and therefore requires no consent. The Website sets the cookie only after a decision has been made in the cookie banner. On expiry of the lifetime, the Website asks for the decision again.
The language selection of the Website requires no cookie: the Hungarian and English versions are available at separate addresses (/hu/… and /en/…).
2.2. Data stored in browser storage
| Name | Purpose | Storage | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
theme |
Remembers the appearance (light or dark) chosen by the visitor on the Website. | Browser local storage (localStorage) | Until the browser data are cleared |
The data remain exclusively on the visitor’s device; they are not sent to the Website’s server and are not transferred to any third party. The data are strictly necessary for retaining a setting expressly requested by the visitor and therefore require no consent. Until the visitor chooses an appearance, the Website stores no data and follows the browser’s system setting.
2.3. Statistical cookies — only with consent
The statistical cookies are set by the Google Analytics 4 service of Google Ireland Limited, and only where the visitor selects “Accept” in the cookie banner. Where the visitor rejects, and until a decision is made, the Google Analytics code is not loaded and the visitor’s browser sends no request to Google. The purpose of the measurement is the aggregate, statistical examination of the traffic and use of the Website: which pages visitors view, where they come from, which devices they use, and how many quote requests are submitted. Google Signals and the advertising features are switched off; the cookies serve no advertising, remarketing or cross-site tracking purpose.
| Name | Purpose | Set by | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
_ga |
Distinguishes visitors by a pseudonymous identifier in order to measure the number of unique visitors. | Google Analytics | 13 months |
_ga_[measurement ID] |
Stores the session state for the Website’s measurement property. | Google Analytics | 13 months |
When consent is withdrawn, the Website deletes the above cookies without delay. Withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal.
Section 4.4 of the Privacy Policy provides detailed information on the processing carried out through Google Analytics, including the transfer of data to the United States of America and its legal basis.
2.4. What the Website does not use
The Website uses no advertising cookies, remarketing tags, social media tracking code or third-party advertising networks. The Website serves its fonts and all other resources from its own server; except where consent to statistical cookies has been given, the visitor’s browser sends no request to any third party.
2.5. Server log
The server that serves the Website logs every request. The log is not a cookie and is independent of the decision made in the cookie banner. The content, legal basis and retention period of the log are set out in Section 4.5 of the Privacy Policy.
3. Giving and withdrawing consent, managing cookies
On the first visit to the Website, the cookie banner asks for the visitor’s decision. The “Accept” and “Reject” options are of equal standing; the setting of statistical cookies requires the visitor’s express, affirmative decision. Until a decision is made, the Website sets no statistical cookie. The Website, including the quote request, can be used in full without a decision.
The visitor may change their decision at any time with the “Cookie settings” control in the footer of the Website, which reopens the cookie banner showing the current choice. When consent is withdrawn, the Google Analytics cookies are deleted.
Cookies may also be managed in the browser settings: stored cookies may be viewed and deleted, and their setting may be blocked for the future. The official browser guides:
The appearance setting kept in the browser’s local storage may be removed in the browser by clearing site data.
Google provides a browser add-on for opting out of Google Analytics measurement on every website: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout
